It's all over the news here about the Great White concert going up in flames and at least 100 people dying, including their guitarist. I'm no big Great White fan by any means, but they're playing venues the size of some of the locations that I saw DT in the last 2 tours, and the question's constantly going through my head: what if that was one of the bands I liked up there and the place was buring down?

Yeah, that thought went through my head too.

What I want to know is, who the hell had the brilliant idea of setting off pyro in that tiny ass club? Almost a hundred people who went out to have a good time are now dead because of someone's stupidity.

Agreed. Quite honestly, I don't believe the club had any idea of what kind of pyrotechnics they'd be dealing with. Perhaps assuming the band would see the club was small and would have the frame of mind NOT to set them off; perhaps the band got the O.K. to use the pyro and figured it would be safe? Sounds like a massive miscommunication that cost a lot of lives.

A sad day indeed.

i'm hearing this here for the first time. in these situations there's usually someone who's consciously careless for personal reasons at the beginning of the chain of events, and a lot of other people who worry for a split second then go "oh, but i'm sure somebody else has taken care of this problem". i reckon a lot of stupid accidents have similar patterns.
