...because my band (edenbeast) just got our promo reviewed in an all-Italian webzine www.shapeless.it and I would really like to know what the review says.

So if anyone could translate the review for me I would be very grateful - and I will of course reward the translator with a promo if he or she would like one.

This promo of the Edenbeast from Denmark give the idea that they will be able to be felt in their first full length, that will be entitled "Tortures World Celebration". The infernal music produced by those five Danish guys is rather winning and interesting, beautiful death metal of clearly Swedish influences, with inserted portions of ferocious melody and brutal parts. A beautiful surprise to put the CD in the cd player and to feel the old sound of At The Gates and the first Dismember, the proposed style is rather close to the pure Swedish Death Metal of these two bands more than the Swedish Melodic Death. In effects the style of EdenBeast is best described as follows, there's too much power for being able to associate them to In Flames and the likes, therefore there is melody but also brutality, and in this case I cannot label them Swedish Death because they are Danish, in order to make contents all this is Melodic Death that cracks the "culo" to many groups in but little sure fact of badness...!!!(sorry about that sentence...can't really do a better job with my limited italian knowledge) The first song of the promo (introduced from a intro) is called "Frameworld" and puts endured the things in luminosity: fast drumming, growl deep and "ringhiato" on detaches "maideniani" that will make the joy of "Slaughter Of The Soul" fans. A chorus appears with an alternated cleaned up voice and a growl one and here the thing enters the game that more or less approached a sure type of melodic death, in order to leave again with the foot on the accelerator. The second song has similar characteristics and in this case the "sfuriata" one of song made me remember Dismember, melody set up on the bases of Death Metal and the contrary (eh yes the difference is not just this to the end...), a beautiful piece also this, "grintoso" and "ringhiato" until to the last breath. Pieces in the promo as I have said are only two, usually do not give an appraisal for the single ones and therefore will make also in this case, if the "stilistiche" coordinates of the EdenBeast will attest on these "canoni" (I hope on greater brutality eheh!) the album could be really good and will cause headbanging for sure! For hour promoted!

I hope you can understand something... :)

i'll help for the sentence ben_t had some problems with:

"In effetti la linea di confine degli EdenBeast si situa proprio a metà, c'è troppa potenza per poterli assimilare ad In Flames e co., così come c'è la melodia ma unita alla brutalità, ed in questo caso non posso etichettarli Svedish Death perché sono Danesi, insomma per far contenti tutti questo è Death Melodico che spacca il culo a molti gruppi in fatto di cattiveria... poco ma sicuro!!!"

=

actually, edenbeast's boundary line is right in the middle, there's too much power to compare them to in flames and the like, in the same way there's melody together with brutality, so i cannot label them as swedish death for they're danish, in short, to please everyone this is melodic death that gives some shit to many bands as for wickedness... that's for sure.

i'm not translating the rest since ben_t has done a nice job :) , also considering he's not italian. oh, one last thing, i'd translate "per ora promossi" with "thumbs up, so far".

A good exercise for me...I took an Italian class two years ago and haven't used it a single time since :)

Here's what I got, with a lot of help from Google's online translator:

"This promo from the Danes Edenbeast is a single that gives a fair idea of what you'll be able to feel from their first full length, which will be called "Torture World Celebration". The [caciara] hellish work of these five drunken Danes is rather [accattivante] and interesting, good abrasive Death Metal which is clearly Swedish in origin, with portions of melody inserted into a damn ferocious and brutal [incedere].

"It's a nice surprise to put a CD in the player and feel the old beloved sounds of At The Gates and early Dismember, the style being rather closer to the pure Swedish Death Metal of these two groups than the usual Melodic Death. In effect, EdenBeast is situated halfway between the two styles; there's too much power to be able to group them with In Flames and co, as there is melody but joined to the brutality, and in this case I can't label them Swedish Death because they are Danes. In short, this is Melodic Death that surely kicks the ass of many such groups in terms of malice!

"The first track of the single (introduced with an intro) is called "Frameworld", and it quickly makes things clear: fast drums, deep growls and snarling and a lack of Maidenisms that will give joy to anyone who loved a disk like Slaughter Of The Soul. [note: I'm not exactly sure what "stacchi maideniani" meant here. It means something like "it detaches the Maidenisms", so I assume he meant "they got rid of the Maidenisms"]. A refrain appears where the clean voice alternates with the growl, and here it playfully approaches standard Melodic Death only to hit the gas and roar away again.

"The second track has similar characteristics, and in this case the sudden angry part of the song makes me remember Dismember, the melody being based on the Death Metal element and not the other way round (er yes, the difference is just this in the end...). This is also a great piece, grinding and snarling to the last breath.

"As I said, there are only two songs on the promo. I don't usually give an appraisal to singles, [e così farò anche in questo caso]. If the stylistic co-ordinates of Edenbeast are attested on these criteria [I think that means "if their style keeps developing in the same way"] (I hope with more malice, haha!) the album could be good and will surely cause some neck-ripping headbanging! Promising for the time!"
