There are a lot of interesting results in there. For example Owens Corning 703 at 4" thick actually provides better bass absorption when it's straight on the wall instead of with a 16" gap!

also, take a look here http://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/pubs/index.shtml
I'm gonna trawl through the articles at some point and find the best stuff, but it'll take a while

and for something really comprehensive and huge http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/rd/pubs/...tural-acoustics/bbc_guideacousticpractice.pdf

Too much information !:Spin:

I remember trying to make head or tail of this stuff last summer .

In the end I decided I needed RW4 rockwool for some bass trapping .

Ordered and paid for it online , RW5 rockwool turns up .......

Used it anyway seemed like the extra density would not alter my use for it much .

Although you need a working knowledge of 'the Force' to really understand

acoustics properly .

there's actually some european stuff in there, rockwool for example is commonly available in the EU.

Also, it's probably not worth comparing co-efficients from one make to another, there's no way of knowing how consistent the test setups are.
