Apocalyptica

All I've heard from them are their metallica covers. Those were pretty cool, IMO. I've heard that they've gone on to release their own compositions... how are those?

On their latest album - called 'Cult' - all the tracks are their own compositions. In addition it has three covers as bonus tracks. It's a very good album, surely worth checking if you liked their first album.

Yeah, Cult is a great record (so is Inquisition Symphony). Some of the songs are fast and furious and others are slow and beatiful. Just don't listen to the new versions of the songs (Path vol II or Hope vol II) where there are vocals. They don't fit and sound simply bad.

well i saw them live this summer, and it was great. of course it's not really music for festivals (i.e. jumping, dancing, getting drunk), but it was good nevertheless. and i like their raping of metallica classics a lot. they made completely new songs out of them, and they are very good as the originals are.

When I last time saw them live, they played a new song of their own which they called 'Metal Boogie' or something like that. I wonder if they are going to release it on cd.
BTW they played also South of Heaven and it was awesome.
