Has anyone heard of the Arctic Monkeys?

I hear they are creating a massive wave of hysteria "across the pond"

I hear they went the D.I.Y. approach via street teams,internet and tape sales and trading at their shows.

I can confirm that there is a massive wave of hysteria in Britain about The AM, mainly because their first single went ot number 1 with no promotion whatsoever. Personally, I don't think there's anything special about them.

yah i like 'em. especially that one song, dont remember the full name but something about when the sun goes down. the videos pretty funny too, it has the character tommy from snatch as the "scumbag". there comin to the states in march but they are only playin the big cities so i wont be able to go.

Very true. If it wasnt for HMV I wouldnt have heard of them. I wouldnt go as far as them being shit, but I strongly dislike "ponce" rock.

They got to number one with no promotion and then broke all known records for first week album sales. BUT they suck. Quite generic and boring.

I listened to their album... I don't think it's that great. They seem to be riding the coattails of such bands as Blur and Franz Ferdinand too much.

They are OK.. a bit too much hype for what they are.

but if you are interested in good stuff coming out of the UK, i'd recommend BRITISH SEA POWER and BLOC PARTY - much much better !!

The only good thing to come out of the UK is IRON MAIDEN.
