actually, i heard once that des moines is 3rd on the nuke list.

because I 35 and I 80 cross here... and we have a few military camps.


...so, maybe iowa isn't as cool as you think... errrr.

i seriously think that's an urban legend. my sister goes to GWU and they always said that "since we're so near the white house our circular quads are the designated nuke targets for Russian missiles", which was neat at first until I figured it was almost certainly made up.

i've heard a few people from the midwest claim that their areas are "high on the nuke target list" because of highways and military stuff. i just don't think that Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas will beat NYC, DC, and LA as targets because they want to cause a midwestern traffic jam.

my area has nuclear weapon facilities nearby and a large nuclear power plant just down the coast.
