Are you ready to spend some money on the new Rush DVD?

I will depending on what the set list is. If stuff that they don't normally play like Cygnus is on it.

Here's the setlist from the R30 concert disc:

R30 Overture -
(Finding My Way, Anthem, Bastille Day, A Passage to Bangkok, Cygnus X-1, Hemispheres)
The Spirit of Radio
Force Ten
Animate
Subdivisions
Earthshine
Red Barchetta
Roll The Bones
The Seeker
Tom Sawyer
Dreamline
Between the Wheels
Mystic Rhythms
Der Trommler
Resist
Heart Full of Soul
2112
Xanadu
Working Man
Summertime Blues
Crossroads
Limelight

And then the Disc 2 stuff:

Fly By Night - Church Session Video (1975)
Finding My Way – mpeg1 from Rock Concert
In The Mood – mpeg1 from Rock Concert
Circumstances
La Villa Strangiato
A Farewell to Kings - Seneca College Theatre (1977)
Xanadu - Seneca College Theatre (1977)
Soundcheck: Various Songs - Ivor Wynne Stadium (1977)
Freewill - Toronto Rocks / Rolling Stones Concert (2003)
Closer to the Heart - Canadian Tsunami Disaster Fund charity telethon performance on CBC television (2005)

Plus some interview footage. There's two different packages that they're going to do. The deluxe package adds a two CD set of the R30 concert soundtrack, some guitar picks , and a souvenir backstage pass. I'll have to see the price differential before I decide which one to get. I don't care about the swaggy items so if it's a ton more for the deluxe then I'll buy the regular and rip the soundtrack to mp3.

I got all that from their website:

Too much stuff I don't care for. I stopped with Rush at GUP and afterwards I only picked "Counterparts" and TFE. VP was such a dissapointment that I bid them farewell and stuck with their classic material.

I am forced to agree.

Although, I'm sure that live that stuff is probably better.

Still, this is a "wait for the used bin" type item for me. Rush already has a lot of my money.

Rush is one of those bands that tends to have eras of fans. I'm not particularly fond of GUP up to Presto. Before GUP and Presto and beyond are my favorites. Yes, I even like Vapor Trails.

The one reason I'll get the DVD is because I saw that tour at Red Rocks and it was an incredible show. Any show at Red Rocks is incredible though. And me being an old fart I need all the help I can get to remember things. :D
