Ashes Of Ares featuring former Iced Earth vocalist Matt Barlow and bassist Freddie Vidales have announced a European tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of IE’s Dark Saga album.
The band says, “Happy Wednesday! – Here is a teaser announcement that an announcement is coming:
“A dream of many fans is now coming true, as the European audience will have the opportunity to hear and witness the entire epic The Dark Saga album on stage.
“The monumental 1996 album that has brought so many memories and joy to metal fans will be played from start to finish, yes all 10 songs, along with songs from our forthcoming album.
Be sure to check back here tomorrow, when we will announce our first date in October. Guess where this is going to be.”
Vidales performed with Iced Earth from 2008-2012 and is featured on their 2011 album Dystopia. Barlow is recognized as the key singer from Iced Earth, performing on their most acclaimed albums. He served two stints with the band from 1993-2003 and 2007-2011.
The Dark Saga was originally released in 1996 via Century Media and is based on the comic series Spawn. Barlow sang on the album along with mainman Jon Schaffer on guitars, Randall Shawver on lead guitars, Dave Abell on bass, and Mark Prator on drums.
