Had a blast last night at the Casino. Before the show, I put $20 in the Jaws slot machine and ended up with $144.00!

Then after collecting my winnings, I entered the Chrome Ballroom/Showroom and minutes later was treated to about 90 minutes of proggy classic rock (keyboard and drum solo to boot). Here are the tunes that were played with the chance of an omission or two:

Long Way From Home
Silent Nation
Desire (highlight for me!)
Military Man
Sole Survivor
Who Will Stop The Rain
Go
Days Like These
Heat of the Moment
Don't Cry
Only Time Will Tell
Time Again

Spoke briefly with John after the show and got my ticket signed. Also bought a cd but the new JP Asia is not out yet. Like Y&T, Styx, Maiden, Heaven and Hell, Priest etc these guys can play and you can see their enjoyment on stage. Real talent. Not this growly excrement that passes for music nowadays. The old guard is fading but you owe it to yourself to see these bands while they are still around. I'm glad I finally saw Ronnie live with H&H.

Only one downside was the drunk guy in his twenties swearing at the audience. One should not drink if they can't handle their liquor.

I thought Payne's band was called GPS? The one he formed with all the other non-original Asia guys after the classic lineup reunited in 2006. I have not been paying attention very closely though. If he's now touring as Asia then that's pretty lame IMO...

I saw Asia with Payne in 2005 and they were pretty good indeed, this was the Silent Nation tour I think. They were opening for Uriah Heep and Dio actually, great evening all in all.
