has anyone heard about his being made into a movie by Gullermo del Torro? I heard a ghost of a rumor but that's about it.

aha i just read that thread and clicked on my UM.com bookmark as i finished and HERE IT IS, DISCUSSION!

this could be totally great. it's not so long they have to cut a lot. although it is a little too historical, maybe?

hmm possibly - I think this is also probably my favorite Lovecraft story next to Pickman's Model. It's been a while though. I need to re-read it in order to have a proper discussion. I wish I hadn't lent my best lovecraft book to peter miller.

i've lent out almost EVERY lovecraft book i own, and i basically own none of his stories anymore, even though i once had every one.

is del toro going to be DANFORTH? heehee!

no he's a director, not benicio. he wrote the script and submitted it but I guess it hasn't been approved yet.

jesus christ. all these spaniards are the same to me.

looking at his IMDB creds, i see he did Cronos, which i liked, and Mimic, which i did not. and Blade II, which fucking sucked, and Y Tu Mama Tambien, which i didn't see but heard good things about.

so...i'm uneasy about his abilities.

no, he didn't do Vanilla Sky. that was alejandro amenabar.
