Are you sure that The Ritual is the right album to refer to? That is Testament's most accessible and softest release. Ordinary heavy metal, no thrash and certainly no death in sight. I think the album you were looking for is Demonic since Weed Out The Weak does sound a bit like a mixture of that and Cowboys-era Pantera.
