I did a lot of walking also. An average of at least a hundred blocks per day. I walked around the city, took a lot of pictures of interesting buildings (I had a list of interesting buildings made by my architect of a brother) and lots of museums on deck, Whitney, Metropolitan, Arts and Design, Natural History, Guggenheim. And that's about it. Managed to make a few blisters and to walk funny for the next couple of days. It was fucking hot on thursday and friday too.
I did not see it. I saw the soft toilet however, that was nice. There was a very interesting retrospective of Ed Ruscha's drawings, with an incredible amount of pieces. Very interesting.
yeah my friend and i were a little bit distracted from all of the 'soft' stuff (which brings to mine a critical line from HALLOWEEN III), by a wheel-chairbound paraplegic openly mining his nose as he emerged from the (not soft) elevator.
this wasn't your first time in NY, i assume? there was something cool going on at the met but i forget what. anything of note?
No it wasn't my first time. Probably my 3 or fourth time actually. I decided to concentrate on museums this time around. I was sure that MOMA was re-opened but it is still closed for renovations... bastards!
There was Andy Goldsworthy on the roof of the Met with a big installation and also german drawings from early twentieth century. The Met also has the best Impressionist/post Impressionist gallery I have ever seen, I have seen nothing of that quality and I have seen the Louvres and the British museum and a lot of others.
you're also, what, like 19 years old and really don't have the luxury of the weight of 10,000 defeats, EACH one, slogging down your right foot like an individual, smelly cement block.
