That just doesn't make any sense... politicians are retarded... all of them.
...even with all the bullshit and corruption, the USA is still the best country to live in, in terms of rights... don't know how long that will be the case... but it is for now.

The agrument can have two scenarios.
The first is that the government is trying to establish an Iron curtain effect so that they can oppress the people and prevent them from knowing what is going on outside that country, something that has happened here in a America, TV/Radio has thousands of channels, with one being world news, and the other being American Programmed BBC and as a result America knows nothing of other outside world other than the garbage Fox News spews about world affairs.
The other scenario is that the government is populated by creationists/liberals/progressives that want to instill their beliefs on other people. Generally those beliefs are children exposed to violent or pornographic material WILL become criminals or that and R or X rated material should not be viewed by anyone because its a sin/root of all evil. Since they don't indulge in such activities and since they have power they will force their lifestyle on others as well.
Either way its an abuse of power and I am surprised the Australians, as much as they bitch about their country haven't don't something about it. If that happened in America, we would have spoken out. We are mad and distrusting at our government for causing our debts, I could just imagine that it could get ugly if they started taking our rights like the talk of taking away guns and modifying other amendments, including free speech.

A blacklist was leaked a few years ago. It was mostly various types of porn, but there were a few completely legit websites (I can't remember, but just various sites that had no reason to be banned). There were also a bunch of things banned like pro-anorexia and pro-abortion sites, which I find the most worrying.
