Australian bands being ignored!!

an Australian band was never going to get that support spot. And on the odd chance they were, it would have probably been some mainstream band on the rockier side of things. Not surprised at all with the international supports.

As opposed to say seeing someone like VOYAGER , DARKER HALF, RAMPAGE or even RITUALS OF THE OAK on there?.
I get your side of it, but I'm not going to bemoan a band or their management for supporting their own 'scene' either.

Say Transcending Mortality reformed after much fan pressure and a large cash injection (OK, me nagging and a $10 Coles gift card). They embark on a big world tour and have an option of:

a) no supports, longer set
b) local supports for each area they play
c) bringing a local talent from their own area, eg Darker Half, to co-tour in support

You'd probably be dirty about ignoring their own locals if they went with B. C would be an easy choice for me, especially if the band you were taking along (Baroness in particular) had minimal presence abroad and wouldn't likely get backing for a tour on their own.

On a positive note...

Let me guess this was Danity entertainment the Cunts that brought iron maiden & judas priest here in 2008 & had emo & lame rock bands sporting? Not to mention kicking the Cavalera brothers off the bill.

Also Vanishing point supported maiden at the Melbourne gig.

Who can remember the days of 93 when Morbid angel & Bolt thrower came to oz & at both gigs they got Armoured Angel to support.
