All of our amps/keys switch patches automatically via midi (as well as time sync'd tempos for delays...) so I'd imagine this could be awesome. Something like the tascam vp1 or whatever would work.

Anyone do this? FOH guys can never get it right...

Any midi controlled and automatable effect could do that. If you can automate teh wet/dry signal ratio with the VP1 via midi, it would be a really cool thing to implement.

Right. I was just curious to see if anyone else was doing this.

just put the delays in the backing track srs

My only problem with that is sound guys will have different levels each night... But it would be fool proof otherwise.

I use the h-delay in waves multirack for the band i run foh for. i have snapshots for every song with the right bpm and throw the fader up when needed...

I think the best way is to find a guy to mix your band that likes your music and will learn your songs.

I think the 2nd best way is to put all your vocal EFX on a backing track with a separate output to FOH from the rest of your backing tracks.

How about you find a guy, and offer him money?

That's what the next step for your band should be.
