"The King Wants You", the new video from Swedish metallers AVATAR, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's seventh full-length album, "Avatar Country", which will be released on January 12 via Entertainment One in North America and Century Media Records Ltd. in the rest of the world. The disc was produced by Jay Ruston (STONE SOUR, ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER) this past summer at Spinroad Recording Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden. "Avatar Country" track listing: 01. Silent Songs Of The King Pt. 2 - The King's Palace Vocalist Johannes Eckerström told Billboard magazine earlier this year that AVATAR is "not a political band in the truest sense of the word, meaning that [we don't] put into our lyrics what we think people should vote for or revolt against." However, he said that AVATAR shares "certain core values. We care deeply about animals. We all passionately agree that any form of homophobia or anything like that is fucking stupid. There are certain core values like that that go beyond how we think we should solve whatever needs to be tweaked about healthcare in our home country or how to finance a bridge building in our hometown." When it comes to lyrics, Eckerstrom told Billboard: "I would never put a message in there that wasn’t somewhat in line with something the rest of the band could stand behind, because the bass lines belong to me just as much as they belong to [bassist] Henrik [Sandelin], just as the same way my lyrics belong to the whole band just as much as they belong to me."
