AVENGED SEVENFOLD guitarist Zacky Vengeance was asked by Philadelphia's 93.3 WMMR radio station in a new interview if there are any plans for the band to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2019. He responded (hear audio below): "We definitely should do something to celebrate. There's really not any plans. "It's pretty wild to think that we've been doing this for 20 years, which is… well over half of my entire life has been with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, and happily," he continued. "I mean, jeez, we all have our moments where you get a little burnt on certain things, but I think if you were to ask any member of our band, this is definitely the highlight of the better half of each of our lives. So, with that said, man, we still feel like we have a long way to go; we're just getting started. We have a lot of great music left to write. Our concerts need to get a whole lot bigger, because we're not gonna be happy until we're playing stadiums. And that's just where our heads are at; that's always been our mentality. Whether or not we get there is to be determined, but, man, the older we get, I think the more fun we have doing this. We've put the years of grinding behind us, but, with that said, we always find new reasons to push ourselves even harder as we get older, and play longer sets and try to be more ambitious musically." Zacky added: "But it's just a wild ride, man — 20 years. I can't even believe it." Late last month, AVENGED SEVENFOLD released a new version of the song "Mad Hatter" in response to fan complaints over the original version's mix. The track was recorded for the "Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4" video game and was first made available online September 17. The track is included on the band's new EP, "Black Reign", which was issued on September 21. "Mad Hatter" was recorded in Los Angeles this past March and is the first original new song AVENGED SEVENFOLD has released since last year's "Dose", which originally surfaced in the Gameloft mobile game "Dungeon Hunter 5". It later appeared on last year's "deluxe edition" reissue of the band's latest album, "The Stage".
