Is anyone else looking forward to this one?
It comes out on Friday I believe.
I have heard 2 songs (Nightmare and Welcome to the Family) and they both sound catchy as fuck.

I was a fan of the City of Evil album but did not like the self titled follow up... This new album is supposed to be pretty special though from what I have heard. Will be interesting to hear Portnoy drumming for this style of music too.

This is a great album.
Heavier than anything they have done before.
There is a lot of Metallica and Megadeth type riffs and sections.
Buried Alive has a very 'One' feel.
Most of the songs are very emotional due to the nature of the past year for the band...

I think most of you guys would dig it if you give it a shot... who knows.

Buried Alive, Natural Born Killers, Save Me, God Hates Us.

They are my highlights so far.

The only song of their's that I've heard is Nightmare and I quite like it. The douches on Blabbermouth seem to hate the band on general principal but I know nothing about them except that Portnoy is playing with them. Why all the hatred?

Maybe their image?
They look like (used to look like even more) your typical punk/emo LA band..
But they can seriously play. Synister Gates is a great guitar player.
The singer used to do this horrible lame growling on the first 2 albums and mix that with a nasaly clean voice, but he doesnt do that anymore.
He is all clean singing these days and has fixed the nasal tone.

Their music is very hooky, but this new album mixes that with some great, great metal riffs.

Check out Buried Alive:

If you like this, and Nightmare, there is a fair chance you will like the album

i remember checking them out a few years ago and thought they were TERRIBLE, but that song Sprucey posted was ok... my internet sucks so i gave up half way through but it wasn't bad.

very hard for me to like people who give themselves names like "synister gates" though.
