any fans of the band in here? the new albumn is quite good. amazing fretwork (especially the acoustic solo in sidewinder), and a lot of orchestral passages.

I do'nt mind the band myself... but the singer DOES kill the band. good music, bad vocals. however i'm one for the music, so i'm somewhat of a fan, but his voice is annoying

I think the answer to that question is no. Personally, I think the metalcore thing got old after the Cro-Mags, Coalesce and Converge perfected it and everyone else started copying. I think that would have been right about the same time Cave In released "Jupiter." *yawn*

I'm not into the band at all, nor that style, but I heard their new album is like power metal. Haha, is this true? I'm sure Rhapsody fans are shitting in their spandex.

EDIT: Ok, someone just sent me a song...and haha this is kinda funny. The chorus is total power metal...if you think I'm some newb jackass trying to categorize stuff, you should just listen to it yourself. While it's weird, I respect them for doing what they want: Punk meets power metal. I don't think it's been done before. Excuse me while I catch a dragon to ride.

p.s. It also sounds kinda scary...move over 1991 era Malevolent creation.
