i don't know nothing about the drums, but in guitars: Citi of Evil and self-titled are Bogner , and Nightmare Marshall JVM (and some bogner , I dont believe that all te guitar sound comes from a JVM

The last album sounded like 100% real drums. Don't know if i like the last production, it definitely sounded special. But it is so freakin dry haha.

Definitely. Compared with City of evil drums, Nightmare sounded so much natural and punchy

I love that band! I love their sound honestly sounds very real, as to a lot of other bands sound artificial.

I love this band also. I think they have some of the best vocal productions I have heard. Some people will snubb their noses and argue that and thats cool, but I love it.

Most of the material I've heard sound unmistakably unquantized. And I love it. The lead tones just suck though. I thought Syn was using his Hughes & Kettner for his leads?

Always loved Jimmy's snare sound, particularly on the live DVD. I think it's some kind of DW snare he used?

Practically everyone at the major label level uses at least a little sample replacement these days.

I heard there are some electric drum kit tones blended in the live Portnoy performance... I don't really know, they kept some parts that The Rev did before he passed out.
