well, I missed half the show, but Kayo Dot had a prime spot (3rd) and we got there just as they were tuning up (so, like, 20 min before they played).

Kayo Dot is pretty stripped down nowadays (5 members played this show) but still dominate live. I thought Toby was going to blow a blood vessel during Gemini--it was that intense. I guess they played such an old setlist because of the crowd--all Hydra Head metal dudes waiting for Pelican? really well done show.
Pelican was good, too, much better than last time--very energetic, not boring (although the guy ahead of me did fall asleep on his feet 2x during the show), not-terrible drumming.
