I have to agree, the body is cool, but I really don't like the attack at all, it sounds like they ran the kick through a horribly distorting small speaker and mic'ed it up

I've never been a big ozzy fan, but I generally like that really natural, dirty sound heard often in that old-school metal era. However... the kick sounds like a floor tom with only the top head being hit with a frozen t-bone steak.

If it was tuned a bit lower that would be a killer kick. But its not, so it sucks.

Sounds like they mic'd it with a D112
Had to work with one of those on the kick the other day, worst sound ever.
Bassist in my band seemed to think it's the shit, until I asked him if he had ever properly used any other mic on the kick, response:
"uuhhh, no?"

I'm a bassist, but am more into production than performance. A few things I've tried is a D112 and a Sennheiser 421, just a 421, just a D112, and an Audix D6, and by far the best was the D112 ... HAHA fuck that!! nah it was the Audix by a mile
