Awesome Maiden news!!

I was too tired to use smileys to show it was tongue in cheek. Tired then, but I am still up.... go figure.

How many makes a Dungeon album/DVD "successful" LT? And what's the break even point? And does anything over break even make is "successful"?

Just out of interest. Feel free to not answer and tell me to go to hell if that's kind of like asking "How much do you earn and how big is your penis?". Or feel free to answer and tell me to go to hell anyway.

:OMG:

Dude! You promised you wouldn't tell anyone! :(

Nah, in Aus, anything over 1000 copies is good for an independant metal band and we've gone way past that from what I've been told.

In Japan, anything over 5000 copies is a good release and in Europe over 7000. Japan's doing great and the album just came out in EU/USA a few days ago so we're not sure what the go is there, but with the market the way it is, we're skeptical of hitting the target there, to be honest.

Like Bucko asked, I'm curious as to what the current figures are to reach gold and platinum here now for both CDs and DVDs. I'd naturally assumed it was the same. (75,000 for gold and 100,000 for platinum, wasn't it?)

I must be a moron or something but I looked all over the ARIA site for that page and I couldn't find the damn thing anywhere! :bah:

Albums and Singles

* Gold: 35,000 units
* Platinum: 70,000 units

Music Videos (including Audio Visual DVDs)

* Gold: 7,500 units
* Platinum: 15,000 units

OK, that's weird... WAY low numbers! Are DVD sales in Aus THAT bad?

It is is'nt it, but not many people must like music DVD'd ..........I do, as I usually pop one in whilst doing the Ironing only burnt the rug once rocking out to something

I've decided to just buy music or tv show dvds, as they end up getting watched a helluva lot more than movie dvds. Music ones can be chucked on while sorting through paperwork or something, or you can just watch a select few songs.
