Well, the title says it all. There were some awesome releases this month from Metal Blade and you might not know about 'em...so check it out:

The Absence: Riders of the Plague
Released: August 7th, 2007

- The band entered Manna Studio's on April 10th 2005 with Erik Rutan (Into The Moat, Soilent Green, Hate Eternal) who produced their first full-length release for Metal Blade. The guys hit Mana Studios of Florida in February & March 2007 with Swedish producer Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Carnal Forge) to begin recording “Riders of the Plague”.

-The Absence spent much of 2006 touring with the likes of Dead to Fall, Ion Dissonance, Vader, Kataklysm, Grave, Nuclear Assault, Destruction, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Entombed, Dismember, Vivisect, and more.

- The band will then opening the Metal Blade Records 25th Anniversary Tour with label mates Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Red Chord, and one other act T.B.A. September through October 2007.


Fueled By Fire: Spread the Fire

- In November 2006 Fueled by Fire was contacted by Brian Slagel owner/founder of Metal Blade Records and top execs from Metal Blade came to see Fueled by Fire perform with Hallows Eve. By March 2007 Fueled by Fire was officially signed to Metal Blade Records.

- Fueled by Fire has been playing shows throughout California from San Diego to San Francisco opening for bands like Agent Steel, Municipal Waste, Fates Warning, and Toxic Holocaust, with a full US tour in the works.

- “Spread The Fire is with no doubt an absolute God send of an album for fans of the early metal days. Over flowing with violent guitar hooks and dual riffs, add the intense drum technique and you have a piece of metal wizardry. Thrash is back, and it hasn't sounded much better than this since Slayer's 'Reign In Blood'.”

- The Band was picked up by Ironclad/Metalblade Records in the fall of 2006. Ironclad is the label started by Trevor Phipps of Unearth, and Sons of Azrael are one of the first signings to the label.
