My brother and I were debating this. This may sound funny, but was Axl Rose ever really out of shape? I know he's in great shape now and don't recall a time that he was in poor physical condition. I've seen some photos on Google but don't know if they're faked.

I recall the raspiness of his voice came from smoking a lot, so no, I don't think he was in good physical condition even during his pique. I don't know if he can still sing the same way, but I haven't listened to Chinese Democracy because the Use Your Illusion albums already suck compared to their debut.
