Well it was a blast, just got back. What a wild show, and what a crowd. I was surprised at the turnout. The whole event was poorly planned I think, 5 stages in all, too many acts. I'd say there was at least 200 to 300, maybe a little more, for the maidens, they had the biggest draw of the night, other than B52s, from what I saw of walking around earlier before the show. The crowd got pretty rowdy at the front during a few songs, one person got close to almost being on stage, but Smylex did his job... here's to more AZ shows! :)

Excellent Night~

I play as Glenn Tipton in METAL GODS, the Priest tribute that opened for The Iron Maidens. It was my first time to see them. What a great show and sound they have! I was blown away. It was quite a hectic event, with so many bands on stage at different times in the area. The Maidens definatley proved thier Metal! They had the best crowd of the evening as far as I saw. The professionalism of this band really came through in the set they played, and their handling of the setup and backstage area. I'm sure the Iron Maidens gained a new fan base in AZ last night, (including me and my friends!), and hope they will come back soon. I would agree with the 2/300 estimate of the crowd, while I think we had about 150 or so for our set. Overall a very cool evening of Metal!

For the Cypress Hill Smoke Out we had around 200...

It felt more like 800-1100 to me. We had over 500 in Portland and there seemed to be much more than that in front of us.....at the Festival. 25+ lined the front stage and we had too many rows back to count....

I liked the big JUMBO TRON behind us. I didn't even know we were on there 'till most of the set was over and I climbed up on the drum riser and looked at Linda. I said, "Hey, that's my ass up there!"

Funny stuff. We definately need to come back to AZ soon.

That just sounds really funny... :saint:

This gig was fun to work. Hopefully the pics that I took came out good.

Of course, I was disappointed that I didn't get to see the band that we came out to the desert to see... the B-52's. :D

Kudos to Ian (stage manager for Sticky Fingers) for all the help with the set up/tear down, as well as Sticky Fingers. I'm not a big Stones fan, but their show kicked ass. Check them out! :)

Yes! Please send all pics to the webmistress! I have some pics I need to shrinky down first and then will send them in to the mistress to put on the website gallery shortly! Metal Gods and Sticky Fingers are the greatest bands to work with! No egos, no problems! Thanks! That JumboTron was cool I think....I didn't know what all the lights behind my back were until Jen told me mid-set her ass was behind me! hehehe! I definitely think there were between 800-1000 peeps there of all ages for Maiden tunes! It was amazing!!!!!!
