Agonia Records is proud to announce and introduce the twelfth, very special edition of Thunder Fest, brought to life thanks to a joint effort of Agonia Records and the ongoing originators of the Bytów, Poland-based festival.
Probably the only such event located in a climatic, Teutonic Castle Courtyard, the festival, set for September 13, 2025, reveals its first performer – the fest’s highly esteemed death metal countryman and Agonia Records signees, Azarath.
Limited to a strict capacity of 1,000 tickets and eight bands (seven to be announced), the one-day event falls into a more intimate spectrum of music community events. The official website for the festival, with comprehensive information for both international and local attendees, can be found here.
Thunder Fest is a festival held in Bytów since 2011, operating under its current name since 2013. The main theme of each edition is independent, alternative music, ranging from less to more extreme genres (amongst past headliners are Venom Inc. and Pestilence). The festival’s unique setting of a Teutonic Castle lies at the heart of Kashubia region; its well-connected location renders Thunder Fest easily accessible to fans from all over Poland and Europe. The town resides close to large regional cities which support a fast road network. Its nearest major airport is in Gdańsk, 86 km away (Berlin – 410km). All this combined makes the festival reachable from virtually anywhere in the world.
Bytów offers a variety of lodging options to satisfy both city comfort lovers and nature enthusiasts. For those who crave proximity to nature, the Bytów area is rich in agritourism farms situated by picturesque Kashubian lakes and rivers. Many of them offer comfortable accommodations and a chance to experience the local natural surroundings.
This year’s Thunder Fest’s lineup reveal is spearheaded by Azarath of Poland. Their appearance at the festival will most likely mark the group’s only Polish show in 2025, amidst working on a new studio album.
The band needs no introduction to the connoisseurs of sonic terror. Azarath crept from the shadows over two decades ago and is often described as a demonic mutation of Krisiun, Behemoth and Immolation. Co-founded by sole original member & drummer Inferno (of Behemoth fame), the group’s present day personnel also features long-running guitarist Bart (Damnation, Armagedon), long-time bassist Peter (ex-Lost Soul) and vocalist Skullripper (Embrional). Their last album, Saint Desecration, was released to critical acclaim in 2020 and was followed by the band’s first ever music video for the song “Beyond The Gates Of Burning Ghats”, available below:
