Backstabbers Incorporated have been flinging their incendiary slabs of thrashed-out, grind-inflected hardcore at the general populace since 2000, and in that time have generated quite a few 7" releases - so Black Market Activities have seen fit to collect them all together along with compilation album tracks and unreleased songs, and slap them all together in one, all-encompassing platter of what the band themselves call 'audible terrorism'.
Powered by double kick drums, grindcore velocities and sheer furious anger, Backstabbers Inc. throw out track after track of hardcore savagery - the multiple vocalists scream, yell and grunt their way through the intelligent and incredibly hostile lyrics ('And we're feeding the trigger happy with fucking bullets galore. And then we wait. And when the shots are fired, we decide to point the finger. Lay the blame. Close the door' is but one example of the lyrical diatribes contained herein), while the guitars crunch, grind, thrash and generally sear from the speakers like jets of napalm.
That's not to say that they rely purely on velocity to get their points across though - 'Sergeant Gun In Mouth Reporting For Duty' is a crawling, bottom-heavy monster of a track at first, that builds towards an earth-shaking beatdown followed by squealing feedback, which clears to reveal a rumbling bass riff before the song continues in an Eighteen Visions-esque fashion. Such dexterity in the song writing never compromises the sheer blasting catharsis of the music, and puts Backstabbers Inc. way ahead of the hardcore/metalcore pack.
An excellent release, well worth any extreme music fan's time. Oh, and make sure you take the time to read the lyrics - it's worth the effort.
8.5/10
