I went to that band Kill Hannah's web site and on the bio, one of the members listed Late Harvest Gewertzaminer as his fave drink. In a recent Alphamail, Scott wrote down that he enjoyed Iniskillin Ice Wine. Both are made from riesling grapes and both have high sugar contents.

I forgot to mention, both in my opinion are after dinner drinks. I would never have them with dinner as I would prefer a more balanced wine with dinner. I would however have them with a plate of fresh berries. The tartness of the berries would compliment the sweetness of the wine. Usually, I opt for bailey's and coffee for an after dinner drink though.

A little useless fact about the Iniskillen Ice wine that Ian mentioned: The reason it's called Ice wine is because the grape is picked after the season's first freeze in October or early Nov. It's at this point when grapes reach their peak ripeness. Since the winery is in Canada, they have the luxury of having a freezing point this early. The low temperature actually crystalizes the sugar content in the grape. When the grapes are pressed for their juices, the crystallized sugar content comes out with the appearance much like "Ice". Hence the name for the wine. Ice wine.

Isn't Gewertzaminer really sweet. I drank it a couple of times, it was pretty good. I prefer Cabernet's, Merlot,s and all the hearty red wines. :tickled:
