-twisted sister pre 1984 was metal.
-ratt on out of the cellar was kinda metal.
-early dokken was more metal like.
-metallica before 1991.
-skid row before bach left was leaning towards metal.


i can't really think of a huge band that changed from being metal/hard rock to something not even close.

Yeah, people seem to forget about those first two albums. They were great NWOBHM albums, its a shame they had to go in a commercial direction and start making bad music.

A kid in my school's dad played guitar on those first two albums, Pete Willis.
