Barge TO HELL

im sure it would be super fun but that's way too much $$$ for the amount of bands there i like and havent seen yet. if there was like 20+ awesome bands that i love it would be worth it. if i was gonna drop that kind of cash id go to roadburn or something.

My school semester doesn't end til the week after that, so no. Otherwise, the Mr. and I quite possibly would be going. :(

I couldn't imagine the typical metalhead having that much cash to drop on an event like that. Looks fun though.

You'd be amazed. This is about the 4th cruise I know of; 70k Tons of Metal, Mayhem Cruise and ShipRocked. ShipRocked is more hard rock/glam, with bands like Papa Roach and Buckcherry. They all do sellout business and the crew of the ships have always been extremely complimentary of the fans on the ship.

You have to remember that these cruises are booked well in advance and attract a TON of Europeans. That's why they tend to be in January, when it's freezing back home.

Wish I could have been there for the 70k Tons show where the guys from Testament and Exodus sang Lady Gaga in the karaoke room. Drunk off their asses, of course. Even better, on the second 70k tour, one guy went wearing a white Justin Bieber t-shirt and got all the bands to sign it. Everyone else was in black metal tees and then there's this guy in the white Bieber shirt with about 100 autographs. That took balls and my kind of humor.

Ah found the CNN report.

Wow, this is the initial lineup for the 2013 70k Tons cruise.

NACRUSIS
DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER
DORO
DRAGONFORCE
ENSIFERUM
HELSTAR
IMMOLATION
IN FLAMES
LACUNA COIL
NILE
RAGE & THE LINGUA MORTS ORCHESTRA
SABATON
SUBWAY TO SALLY
TURISAS

If I wanted to sleep on a bed that was rocking, I'd just drink in bed. (that means 2013 is a snoozefest so far, save for Helstar)

They're never going to top this year's lineup with My Dying Bride.

What a crappy band indeed.

I used to be online-buddies with Herman Lee back in the good ol' days of IRC. He went by the name of <shred> and I even remember he sent me once some demos of him shredding and a few photos... haha!
I miss the IRC days sometimes.

If you didn't like him before everyone else didn't like him, does that still make you hipster? :loco:

IRC is still alive and well. Shit, that's where all the MP3 pirates are. Go look at the Undernet MP3 groups. They have been running for a decade. Meanwhile, the RIAA takes down innocent grandmothers.

You abandoned the rest of us, you know! :(

Are you really going to leave me there alone with Acie? Do you understand how frightening that is?!

Yes, I do! Mainly because I fail to understand anything he is talking about when he is shouting out Computer/ Video games related stuff! ;)

You know, it sucks, I barely ever touch my PC at home anymore... I am mainly on my MacBook Pro or iMac, nowadays, and my IRC is on the PC...
I'll make appearances though! Because you know... I like you and stuff.
