Hi Guys.

First time posting something mine here. I've been around for a few years, but never had the urge to post since I felt I had nothing valuable to contribute with nor had the knowledge to comment on your stuff.

I've been a (pretty lousy) guitar player for a while, but now I'm starting to get into the recording/mixing world. Been reading a lot more in the latest weeks and testing/learning lots of stuff to improve my skills.

This is one of my first mixes and if you could give me feedback, I would appreciate it a lot. I'm doing everything ITB. It's just an excerpt and the riffs are pretty standard so I won't get lost in the details and focus on the mixing process.

The guitar chain is TSE808 + TSEX50 + LeCab with Messiah Impulses.
The bass is TSE BOD.
I didn't work on the drums. I know they're EZDrummer, but they're not mine, got them from a friend.
A few eq a post processing done.

What you think? Any suggestions to improve?

(Btw, if posting a mix asking for feedback is not the right way to start posting, let me know!).
Thanks!

It's not too bad man, it's a little muddy, start playing with blending your eq's together a little more, put everything essentially on it's own frequency and they balance a lot better. And it seems like maybe the OH on the drums are too loud?

Yeah, I noticed that yesterday! Thanks for the heads up. As I said, I got them from a friend (as a wav file). Got the midi file already and worked a little bit on it, but nothing too fancy.

Here's my latest mixdown.

I feel like it has more clarity, but lost a little consistency and it's harsher.
What do you think? Maybe too much mids on the guitars?

Thanks.
