I've been playing bass for a number of years now, but I never dove too deep into the intricate and vast pool that is the making of music. Now that I'm in an active band and have played a number of local shows I've learned so much, especially regarding how different types of stings (i.e.: roundwound v. cobalt) effect your tone. I have found that I mostly enjoy Ernie Ball, that's strictly a personal preference.
However, I still have so much more to learn! Hence, my what could be considered a naive question. What kind of effect will putting two types of stings (i.e.: flatwound v. halfwound) have on the tension of my bass, if any? I'd like to experiment and start legit customizing my Schecter.
