bassdrop sample for those who asked..

One cool thing you can do is to do a glissando with a bass preset..
Then you get that LotR effect when Sauron's eye explodes Very cool..

ANOTHER newbie with only one post bumping an old thread to ask for samples. I am really getting sick of this.

I'm starting to think a minimum post count for downloading samples would be a good thing, it would encourage people to actually contribute to the forum instead of just coming here and getting all the samples they can.

And if the guy would have posted a new thread asking if anyone had any subdrops, he would have been flamed just as much...


Why is this forum turning into gearslutz all of a sudden... Every single person on this forum has revived old threads and gotten info/files from them, it just bothers me that because people havent been on this forum for years they just cant utilize this forum unless you have 10,000 posts..?

We are here to help any and everyone wanting to start production/mixing, sorry for the rant but I just don't understand what getting pissed off at someone over this is going to accomplish in any way...

I can see what you're saying tobin, but, the post was a year old and if it doesn't work, just accept it.

I've been flamed on here pretty hard once or twice and I keep coming back because there's good people here. I've already learnt a lot just from reading and my mixes have gotten better. Sure, there's the odd asshat, but that's life. Get over it and move on.

Sorry to have offended you man, I just feel that lately there have been more and more people with super low post counts bumping threads that are years old and it's ALWAYS to ask for samples/impulses/presets to be uploaded again. Most of the time they leave without so much as a thank you.

Of course I know that samples etc are put up here for a reason, to be shared. But how often do you see someone with a low post count giving something to the forum? Never. Generally they come here and take take take and then never return.

I know I don't have as many posts as some, but I try to chime in whenever I have a bit of knowledge that I think someone might find useful. Infact my first post here was not asking for something, but giving a bit of info to someone.
I've posted some of my own drum samples and intend to post some more soon too, giving a very small something back to the forum that has taught me so much.

Basically I'm saying that this forum is meant to be a place for discussing metal production, and when some of the discussions get going on here there's some fantastic insights and ideas that get thrown around. And I would much prefer a forum full of threads like that instead of a forum full of "I can has samplez plz? Whats an impulse? Joey ur guitar soundz are awesome can I have presets? Will you process the raw snarez for me I can't work compressor? etc... etc... etc..."

As I said, I wonder if a minimum post count for downloads (not alot, say 30?) would improve the quality of posts on this forum as a whole? Even the new guys can have some useful/interesting ideas and experiences.

In my pessimistic humble opinion, this will just add spamming. Maybe not the same type, but people posting to get their posts up.

yep i definitely agree, i mean if you dont like the impulse/samples stuff being resurrected, just dont read it, or comment in it? seems simple enough

i mean i get your frustration, it sometimes bugs me a little bit, but nowhere near enough to get annoyed with it, just kind of move on
