Arsis's new record UNWELCOME was released today on Nuclear Blast.

There are some beastly tunes on this record and great production thanks to Mark Lewis.

I know Brandon mentioned to me that the guitars were Kemper. As to what kind of profile, no idea. Also I too love how unbelievably clear that ride is. Freaking killer.

Mark is fast becoming one of my favourite and most consistent modern metal mix engineers. The mention of the Kemper explains why the guitars are the only part of the production I don't like. Awesome in every other way though.

It's an awesome record. It's amazing how refreshing a straight up death metal record can be when it just sounds like awesome players actually playing.
