I just found out that we forcefully sterilized 62,000 Swedish women in 1934-1972, and that this is a highly likely reason for the "beautyfull Swedish women.".


I wonder why we didnt learn that in historyclass!?
Im actually quite shocked about this, i mean, we where even before Hitler with doing this shit!
And we also get to learn in historyclass that we didnt really want to help Hitler during WW2(They got alot of minerals for tanks/weapons from Sweden.), but im seriously doubting that right now.

Man...during WWII the Nazis and a Japanese group called Unit 731 both had things they did that were FUCKED up. Such as...(Nazis) getting Jewish prisoners/(Unit 731) getting prisoners to go into a room and "fill out paper work" that usually took about 5 minutes. The entire time they are in the room they are getting blasted with radiation and by the time they leave they are sterilized, and have no idea it just happened.

Not to mention 731 did some crazy shit like taking the arms of prisoners off and re-attaching them on the opposite sides to see if they could still use them. Also, they would take prisoners and tie them to a post, and set grenades off at 5/10/15/20 feet just to see what the damage was from those distances. The doctors there would rape female prisoners to get them pregnant, only to later basically rip the child from the womb and do experiments on it. If I recall correctly from my readings I believe the US government actually gave amnesty to several doctors involved in exchange for the data they gathered from the testing. Pretty fucked up.

Well, if you sterilize women that are by racial/eugenisticstandards weak, you will most likely get more evolved and beautyfull women left.
So we basically sterilized women with racial, and medical "problems", to make the future offspring more "clean", as theyd put it in those days.

Yeah, but we did it in 1934, 5 years before WW2 broke out(1 year after Nationalen Sozialisten got the power in Germany.).
And we where, and still are considered to be the country that benifits handicapped the most, and we also have the highest rates of immigrants in the world.
So the wierdest thing too me is the fact that we actually did the opposite of what we are known too.

Yeah, that's what I figured - if that's true, jesus christ...

Its kinda true.
Alot of people where apperently sterilised because of their apperance, this is because of the fact that a man named Herman Lundborg, who decided that Sweden needed to have a cleaner, more powerfull race(Again im putting it in the words "of those days".).

But they also sterilized alot of handicapped, mentally ill, people with genetic disorders and such to get rid of those kind of problems.

And then this hypocrit country seriously says that we didnt agree with what the Nazis did?!
WE F-ING DID IT 5 F-ING YEARS BEFORE THEY DID! :O

Seriously, it seems like this has been erased from Swedish history, sence I didnt know it, and ive asked like 30 friends, and none of them even belived me!

Well first of all I assume that you're joking about the "beautiful women" part since the sterilization had nothing to do with LOOKS, and you're also by default ruling out that anyone other than a "pure nordic girl" could be good looking.
Second, not only women were sterilized, although they were in majority.
Third, women basically give birth to both boys and girls, so the sterilization would have to be targeted towards people more prone to give birth to girls.

Apart from handicapped, mentally handicapped people and people with learning disabilities (many of who are naturally sterile anyway as far as I've understood), I know that several gypsies were targeted if I remember correctly, and probably jews as well, along with criminals and whoever else they (we? I'm swedish) didn't want in society.

With that said, it was of course a very f**ked up thing, but let's not forget that it went hand in hand with the ideology and philosophy of the time (ok,k it went on until the 70's but the most of it BY FAR happened before the mid 50's) and while others didn't go as far, it makes me wonder if it wasn't more a matter of time or a matter of "medical technology" before it happened in other places too. In fact, I don't really know how it was in other countries. I doubt we were the only ones doing it. But times change, opinions change, mentality change. So yeah, a weird chapter in history, but as with the 3rd reich it's a bit more spectacular because of how organized it actually was. Humans have always been very keen on screwing each other over.

"Sterilization, targeted towards "mentally slow and certain criminals, etc" was introduced at an early stage in USA, mainly in California. The same applied to Denmark (1929), Norway (1934), Sweden (1934), and Finland (1935). Many west european countries, among others Great Britain, Switzerland and the Netherlands, had similar programs, as well as Australia and Canada. The compulsory sterilizations in Germany's Third Reich, that were instituted in 1933, were focused on racial hygiene."
