Been working on my drum mix - opinions please :)

Hey guys!

Lately I've been reading a lot of stuff about drum mixing and I think I'm starting to make some progress!

I know its difficult to judge drums on their own but I would love some feedback on this!

I used Dream Theater - Honor Thy Father as a test clip as it uses all the drums.

Drums can sound very good alone by itself but bad in a mix and opposite.I suggest you to record some guitars and bass and then work on your drum sound.Cheers!

As has been said, throw the drums into a whole mix, if you can, that's a proper way to judge drum sounds. On their own, the drums sound very thin and splatty and machine gun-y...
