This Friday...

Behemoth
with Dawn Of Azazel and The Amenta
8pm @ The Gaelic Club

Quite possibly the most kvlt and brvtal show left in the year for Australia. At under $50 a ticket it's a steal. Who's coming?

Inferno is an absolute fucking machine
I don't think I've ever been so impressed by a drummer live... not even by Portnoy with G3. Definitely stole the show in my eyes. Ridiculously fast and tight while still managing to actually be interesting for an entire set - a massive feat from a death/black metal drummer.

Since you're not a black metal fan, Ferret, you probably wouldn't have seen the drummer from the Furor -who blasts it and sings at the same time.

Same with Joel Green from Armoured Angel (or the other one if I got the names wrong again).

The drummer from Alarum is also mightily impressive as is R2 from Mytile Vey Lorth -he's a fucking machine!:rock::rock:

Was interested in seeing Behemoth, but not enough time or money to arrange a journey up.

Oh, well.

Next time.

I took some photos. Here: http://pyromusic.net/index.php?p=gigs_review&id=112

Since you're not a black metal fan, Ferret

Since when? :p It's not that I don't like the genre as a whole, rather that most of the black metal bands I've heard are extremely one-dimensional and boring as bat shit. I could say the same thing about thrash and power metal too though. I've seen The Furor but didn't find them anywhere near as interesting as Behemoth, especially in the drumming department.

PS- before you say anything Ben... liking Immortal isn't a pre-requisite for liking black metal in general

I know.

Just teasing ya. :p

But you are right.
The majority of black Metal bands out there are one dimensional and boring as all fuck.
And it's annoying trying to dig through the mounds of shite trying to find the one gem -such as Deathspell Omega's release from this year.
