Okay, you're in let's say 1985 and you have to organise a big 3 day Metal Festival. About 8 bands or so each day...which would your line-up be?? Remember it's the 80's, so most of the bands didn't get to their bad albums at that time :loco: (also didn't use too much "big" names like Priest , Saxon , ACDC and stuff, but they deserve tops too of course)

my list

Friday; crossover-day; I loved the crossover scene a lot, so good to start with for me.
- Hirax
- Znowhite
- Zoetrope
- Suicidal Tendencies
- DRI
- SOD
- Anthrax
- Slayer

Saturday; metal-day ; only true Heavy Metal

- Loudness
- Jag Panzer
- Savatage
- Agent Steel
- Exciter
- Exodus
- Overkill
- Metal Church
- Metallica

Sunday; listening day ; everebody is death after the two past days and
wanna relax, listening to some "good" music
- Helstar
- Vow Wow
- Warlord
- Crimson Glory
- Alcatrazz (with Vai)
- Rising Force
- Queensryche

Monday; waking up and thinkin' ; "god damned, I will remember this weekend into the next century "

Now that's an old-school thread :loco:
So... 1985? OK.

Friday, the Thrash day, it's the end of the job week and you need to kick some ass, right?

Exodus (headliner)
Slayer
Overkill
Exciter
Anthrax
Agent Steel
Destruction
Nasty Savage

Saturday, the pure Heavy Metal day, you know you want to bang your head

Judas Priest (headliner)
Mercyful Fate
Riot
Accept
Jag Panzer
Sortilège
Trouble
Manilla Road

Sunday, the melodic Metal day

Thin Lizzy (headliner, their last show ever? )
Dio
Queensryche
Dokken
Warlord
Crimson Glory
Loudness
Demon

Beer for 1 euro/dollar and an Old-School Forum meeting, who wants to come? :loco:

Does it have to be 1985? If not, I´ll postpone the festival to summer 1988 - otherwise I´ll have to use a time machine - and put up the following list:

Day 1 ("speed/thrash metal day"):
Ice Age (still demo status, but this festival also gives promising newcomers a chance!:D )
Forbidden (see Ice Age)
Znowhite
Détente
Coroner
Voivod
Flotsam & Jetsam
Testament
Megadeth

Day 2 ("heavy metal day"):
Meanstreak (see Ice Age)
Hades
Chastain
Warlock (they play their entire debut and a few songs from "Hellbound")
Vicious Rumors
Metal Church
Helstar
Metallica ("...And Justice For All" hasn´t been released yet, so they concentrate on the stuff from their first three albums)

Day 3 ("progressive/technical metal day"):
Sieges Even (see Ice Age)
Anacrusis (see Ice Age)
Watchtower
Mekong Delta
Fates Warning (Ray Alder feels sick on this day and thus has to be replaced by John Arch:D, so F.W. "only" perform songs from their first three albums)

There are only 5 bands performing on the final day, because the music of some of them requires twice the concentration :D !
