Belladonna back in Anthrax

Well Carlos, we're often at the same wavelength, but not this time...

I'm a huge Anthrax fan and just can't believe they pulled this stunt again. I'm so disappointed, though the signs had been lining up pretty clearly the last days...

I like Joey, love the albums they did together, but a huge part of me travelling to the Czech Republic for the Sonisphere show was the prospect of finally seeing them with John Bush, who is IMHO one of the best frontman in metal. He was already committed to play these shows for fucks sake.

I don't want to start a war about who's the better singer for the band, but this probably also means, that the songs from "Sound..." to WCFYA will be neglected in all future live shows.

Every time I think this once great band couldn't turn into a bigger travesty, they pull off something like this.

I completely agree with you on the "drama" aspect of things

However, I still listen to "Spreading", "Among", "State" & "Persistence" on a regular basis ... "SOWN" only gets played once in a while and the only other one I liked with Bush was "WCFYA" so for me, its always been about Belladonna's voice with their music. As far as I know, Bush has no problem with this cause he's the one that didn't really want to commit to them again (understandably) but he also makes great $$$ from doing the voice overs he does so seems like music is now something he does if he really feels like it, and when. Belladonna got a raw fuckin deal 1st time around but if he's into it I say bring on the album they SHOULD have made after "Persistence"

I mean, Charlie and especially $cott are just the kings of hypocrite bullshit. They didn't really want Bellardini back in '05, but the band was at the brink of extinction due to financial shortcomings. So they did the reunion tour in the wake of all the other reunions at the time and when it came to making a new record, they offered Joey an oppressive deal, that would have made him anything but an equal member, consequently he denied...

I just passionately hate (because I also passionately love the band) the fact that they play these bullshit games with their fans (the very few left). Don't fucking say another Belladonna reunion is the best thing you could ever imagine happening to the band when you said John Bush is "the voice of Anthrax" and "was sorely missed all the time" weeks before.

And the same empty phrases about Dan Nelson, the few months that trainwreck imitation of a frontman used to be their singer.

What kind of joke is this?

Some few years ago Bush was the singer of Anthrax, then came the reunion with belladona for that tour, then Bushes leaves the band, then Dan Nelson join the band. They start recording the album, and when the vocals are already recorded, Nelson goes and Bush come... I thought they were about to release the album with John... and suddenly Belladona again.
Will the record the whole album again with Belladona?

It would be great to release a triple CD, each Cd with each singer.

I bet you a beer that Belladona will be out again within the next 2 years.

This drives me nuts.

They had the whole issue with Dan, Bush comes back and tears it up at a few shows and gets everyone excited... and now it's back to Joey?

Sorry, as much as I loved the early thrash stuff with Joey I liked the balls of John's voice much better. And I guess Charlie and Scott are going to eat their "oh our songs so SO MUCH BETTER with John's voice, it's like the voice we always heard in our heads when we wrote all those old songs!" comments that they repeatedly made in the White Noise-era of Anthrax. Never mind all the nasty comments directed at Joey after the "reunion" tour.

Whatever. I guess new Anthrax with Joey is better than no Anthrax at all.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I think too.

I was TOTALLY excited to see them with Belladonna in '05 - despite the drama - but this time again, I'm quite sure my beer will taste a bit sour.

And again, nothing against Joey. A good guy who's merely a ball in this game too.

Oh definitely - no disrespect to Joey at all. He recently played my city to a small crowd, and friends that were there all got to chat with him, said he was fantastic to everyone. I understand that "business happens" and all... but that still doesn't keep me from liking Bush's voice better overall.

Still, I'll probably go see them, just to relive being 14 again and playing drums to "Among The Living" over and over and over again :)

Anthrax really isn't worth keeping up with all of this bullshit for.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I love 'em, it just seems like they turned into 2nd hour Lunch time at the local Highschool. Drama drama drama drama drama drama drama.

yup .. like I said, I agree 100% about the drama aspect of it but you know what? ... I'm not in the band, I just want a killer new Anthrax cd with Belladonna singing on it. Its gotta be dark, thrashy but with those great melodies that made so many of their songs awesome
