I'm going to have to go with Mayhem's "Freezing Moon" (with Attila on vocals). I know it's not a fashionable choice, but the solo for that song is killer.

Speaking of Mayhem, has anyone got Chimera, and does it suck as much as I think it will? All the reviews make it sound like GDOW without the interesting bits.

Get the Emperor live ceremony cd. Find somebody that has a subwoofer system in their car. Max volume with bass all the way up. You will make every wigger you see envy you. That drummer is insane.

and Dissection are indeed black metal. their atmosphere, attitude, and most importantly, their music is black metal. i can name some "definitive black metal" that sounds shitloads more like death metal than Dissection does.

but if you listen to the music... its more thrash than black.
