Best electro/pop reference records

Electro Pop... any examples??

I'm thinking of like, Pet Shop Boys?? Does the Lady Gaga stuff count as electro pop?? (love the synth sound she uses)

Personally... and I'm almost sad to admit this... But the best produced synth/ electro stuff is the underground Euro stuff I listen to on occasion lol. Shits all over the american stuff..

And knowing you Ermz, I imagine you're after stuff that really tests your system like the STD mix where you get a full range of lows and highs and everything in between right?..

I'll say this with utmost respect for Andy, but I think the difference is the clear almost cheap system friendly mix you get from Andy's stuff, versus the more intended for full range mixes you are starting to enjoy more recently.

That's how I can describe the Euro electro stuff compared to the brittany/ gaga mixes..

Good luck with it :)

Can't believe I just wrote all that :(

I use different songs to test some things.
For space in the mix, I love Wolfsheim - Kein Zuruch, you can listen to the reverb tails clearly :)
For thunderous bass, I like to listen to Kelis - Trick me, that bass is almost on the "too much" ballpark, but it doesn't woof.
For overall production, I loved Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Read my lips and Madonna - Confessions on the dance floor.

Joy Division, New Order (blue monday is great for referencing)

Check out a band called Angelspit's 100% for not so poppy but really electro stuff

Britney Spears-In the zone of course
Toxic for a go to song (in therm of production of course)

Or check Tony Maseratti production list for cool stuff related Erm;)
