Melissa is Godly!!! But I love all MF... even 9 though it isnt quite as good as the other albums... but just as good as dead again".

YES to my incredible dismay I did hear that rumor but I also heard that the reason king sounds the way he does is because he was castrated in his home land during the times that he sang in the church choir hahah!!! I doubt this is true but who knows about the other thing.. let me know if you find out anything!!

I think that all of them were great but I really love Don't Break the Oath! It just rocked hardcore like that. Yeah... Yeah!

Another vote for Melissa, but I too like all of them. I saw The Oath tour and remember that I was just totally psyched that I was going to get to see them. That was the early 80's and I never expected the opportunity. There was no internet then (for me anyway) and I never knew how big they were or how big they were going to be and I didn't know anybody else who listened to them. Ahhh... the early days of metal. It was cool.

It's a toss up between ...the Oath, Melissa, & the Beginning. I know The Beginning isn't a true full length album but there are some classic tunes on it and it is a great listen through & through.
I'll vote for Don't Break the Oath today.

Tough choice between Melissa & Don't Break the Oath for number 1, very slight edge to Melissa.
Abigail would get #3 spot.
(since many songs from "the begining" ended up on "melissa" I agree it is not an official album)

I have to go with In the Shadows...it's my fave, though I still love Melissa and Don't Break the Oath and The Beginning and Return of the Vampire EP...is there such a thing as a bad MF album?

Melissa is my favorite but Don't Break The Oath and 9 are shortly behind.
Also to those of you said that Abigail II is King's last album, wrong, good news is he has a new one coming out this Halloween called "The Puppet Master". It is suppose to be is greatest story/concept album yet.

well, depicting if it is going to be his greatest, is up in the air as it has not been released yet. and i think you read it wrong, its suppose to be his "goriest" and "most violent" album ever.
the fate(nopun intende) of mercyful fate is up in the air, as well. King said something to the lines of not being able to live on Mercyful Fate alone, and if memory serves correct, there is going to be one more Mercyful Fate album then MF is done for.
