Hi,
I was hoping I could get an amp sim capable person to reproduce this 6505 tone and tell me roughly how they did it.

It is me playing guitar so the quality is a bit rough, sorry about that.
Also I posted wav files but they are really short.

The signal chain was :
guitar -> 6505 -> Mesa2x12 -> SM57.

- mic was off centre but perpendicular to the cloth.
- I used EQ in the loop.
- No post EQ.

The DI 's :

The reamped tone :

Thanks, I appreciate any help.

TSE X-50, definitely.

Granted, I wouldn't consider myself to be even remotely good at recording/mixing, all that fun shit, but this was a quick diddy I wrote to give the X50 a whirl.

So again, any discrepancies you have with the tone are probably because I don't really know what I'm doing, lol.

Gibson Les Paul Studio > Stock Pickups > Line 6 M9 set to a tubescreamer clone > X50 > asem Recto & s-preshigh

I am a little bit appalled at the dietary habits of Norwegians but they do make good amp sims.

Thanks for the people that posted clips. I am leaning towards X50 myself.

Note to P-E : Your stuff is massive but you are definately going in a different loudness direction to me. I dont maximise my mixes , I just blend the instruments together and that is all.
