Mine is Santana in 1978 - musically one of the cleanest I've ever seen. The volume was perfect - no ear damage or distortion. Could hear every instrument with clarity - and, they were pretty damn good too.

My other is Emerson, Lake & Palmer. That's the keyboardist in me saying Keith Emerson to me was the most underrated keyboardist ever.

Rush- Counterparts tour in '94. Sound quality wasn't perfect but they played damn near all my favorites.

Primus in '91. The sheer power in the tone of Les Claypool's bass during the opening "Jerry was a Race Car Driver" just tore me apart!

Pink Floyd... 7 times in my life.....Once when Waters was still part of the band.

THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, last ever concert in London England ever! november 4th 2000, the best ever concert, so depressing that i listened to them non stop for 4 months, nothing else:loco: , after that i thought i had to burn the cds as i didnt wanna go back to that depression again. cant listen to them without going weak all over anymore.

Easy one that - Porcupine Tree at The Shepherds Bush Empire, 11 May 2001 - absolutely mindblowing, I literally couldn't walk afterwoods. Without a doubt, the best concert I have been to EVER.......

Nutmegalomaniac Festival featuring TOOL, PORNO FOR PYROS, PRIMUS, ALICE IN CHAINS (acoustic set), FISHBONE- 1994 at the Palace

THE SWANS - at the Roxy in 1995 - the most mesmerizing night I've ever experienced

GODFLESH Songs of Love and Hate Tour- at the Troubador in 1996

TOOL and KING CRIMSON - August 10, 2001 - at the Berkeley Community Theater

FANTOMAS and ATOMSMASHER- Thursday nite at Slim's

:headbang:

You bastard. I soo wanted 2 b there but couldn't get 2 London   :( It was supposed 2 b really good as well :(

A Perfect Circle in Tortonto this March was pretty good, but the Warehouse has terrible sound, and there were too many fuckheads in the crowd.

But I'm sure that's as close to Maynard as I'll ever get... a shame, really ;)

Some punk shows I've been to were pretty good. Guttermouth were extremely loud and I was very drunk.

The Muscle Bitches put on a great show, especially since there were only about 15 people in the audience. They play home-made mini-guitars (double guitars, copies of Dimebag's Washburn, and one that spits fire) and this huge-ass baritone Sax. Tons of stage presence and audience involvement. My band was supposed to open for 'em, but the lead guitarist's grandfather got sick or something.. damnit.

They're from BC, so Hoser, try to find them too. Their album is called Hellephant.

I am not exactly sure of the best non-metal concert that I have been to... But I just atented a "California Guitar Trio" concert. They are a group of three acoustic guitar players, that often play with Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, Liquid Tension Experiment, and about 3,000 other projects) and Pat Mostellotto (King Crimson). It was an amazing show, it was at a tiny theater here in Austin and had about 150 people total in the room. They played A LOT of stuff, Progressive rock, Classical, Surf Rock :loco: , Traditional Japanese folk songs. It was too much, and after that they all sat outside and signed autograph's....
This was a dream, because if any of you know who TONY LEVIN is you would know what an honor it would be to get his autograph, I could not stop shaking!! He is probably the best bass player alive, and will continue to be for some time. It was definately a night not to forget....

I saw Aerosmith twice in one month -- at home over a break and then when I went back to college. I'm not a HUGE fan of theirs, but I like enough of the songs that I thought it would be entertaining. Wow...they are REALLY amazing showmen. I can't believe that they're able to put on a show like that without drugs (cause they're supposedly sober now). Definitely made me appreciate and respect them.

And of course I loved seeing Days of the New in a small club after the release of the second album -- but you could probably gather that by my other blathering posts about them.

However, for the most exciting concert of my life (besides Opeth), it would have to be the New Kids on the Block! :loco: LOL. Hey, give me a break, I was 9 and it was my first concert!

It would have to be a show I saw here in Toronto, not really a concert I guess, but a local band named Memory Bank. They played some very twisted, messed-up progressive art rock, and used effects like like instruments, damn, they were quite the performers!

The Cure.... no question about it. i caught one of the dates
during the Dreamtour for the Bloodflowers volume, but they
played a shit load of old songs :D

Hehe, I dunno, I haven't been to many non-metal concerts.

It'd have to be Michael Jackson's show at the Helsinki Stadium some years ago. A _great_ show and some of his older songs aren't that bad.
