Hi! This is my first post on this forum...

I would like to know what is the best plugin in your opinion...

For me, the URS Classic Console Strip Pro is a must have plugin... developed by URS in association with some of the greatest engineers (I guess Mike Shippley was one of them...). (http://www.ursplugins.com/ursStripPro.html)

And also the Crane Song's Phoenix Tape Saturation plug-in...

Peace!

i'm a big fan of the URS 1073 EQ

as for channel strips, my go-to plug ends being wavearts trackplug a lot of the time...i've tried and tried and tried to get away from using the thing all the time, but almost always ends up doing what i need it to

So can someone answer something for me...A channel strip is basically an all in one comp/eq, etc?? As opposed to using separate plugins?

bingo

in fact, the wavearts channel strip that i mentioned includes an eq, compressor, gate, another compressor, and a limiter

Voxengo GlissEQ also has dynamic equalization.
But wavearts trackplug gives basic thigs in a very good form.
Also it has frequency analyzing feature and sidechaining for compressors and gate.

does it for fucking everything!

For me, I have 3 plugins I use (and abuse) way too much.

1. Izotope's Trash- everything from vocal distortion to warming up drum tracks.

2. McDSP's Compressor Bank- The most under rated compressor plugin out their. The inline/bypassed pre compression EQ is amazing.

3. URS S Series EQ- Retardedly efficient (even on my mix plus G4!) and sounds amazingly good
