Since so many bands have tours imminent and we usually end up wondering about the support acts, I just wondered what bands you folks out there had seen as support acts and were impressed by.

Iron Maiden, Magnum, MSG, Bad Company, Anthrax, Sabbat, Skyclad, Primus... There's quite a list for my part, but I thought I'd start the ball rolling...

I'll start off by saying flat-out that Saxon is the best live band I've ever seen. However, the opening acts never seemed to leave an impression on me. The years for these shows may be a bit off, but I tried to recall as best as I could:

Still Scorpions supported by Blackfoot for me! Columns of flame in Bradford St Georges Hall? What were they thinking!:hotjump:

I even enjoyed the 'bar-stool' acoustic bit where they played a Lady Starlight/Always Somewhere/Holiday medley.


Another favourite when Skynyrd supported Deep Purple a short while back and on the night blew them away!

Finally Dr Feelgood including the late Lee Brilleaux supporting the legend that was/is Rory Gallagher. So glad I got to see Rory live before his untimely death.
