Toss-up between Darkthrone's Goatlord, Disciples of Power's Mechanikill, and Johnny Touch's Inner City Wolves, at least where metal is concerned.

I'll just drop a few releases from 2015 I'm still spinning consistently. While it was a good year, many have lost their luster.


Akhlys - The Dreaming I This is in the top 10 of the decade conversation IMO. The only negative I can point out is the back half of the album isn't quite as strong as the front half

Batushka - Litourgiya Wasn't even on my top 10, but quite a grower. This album is in a weird place. It has elements of atmoblack, but very much isn't. Maybe we'll call it occult or ritualistic BM, in the vein of Akhlys, Fyrnask or the like. Clean production, but fluffy nor oppressively dissonant
