What is the In / Out policy at The Pearl Room?

If this has already been asked or is stated somewhere else on the site, please forgive me, and perhaps post the link.

Many thanks.

Okay, so then we're stuck in that place for the whole time...
What is the lay-out of the venue? Is there a place to go when we don't want to hear one of the bands? Another room, perhaps... far, far away? (So we don't have to suffer under death-metal oppression. :zombie: )
With maybe seats, or will we be standing all night?
How about food? Do they serve food?

Sorry for the questions. It's just this in-out policy kinda frustrates things...

Ugh... that policy stinks, particularly if you enjoy merch shopping and don't want to carry your items around with you all night.

It would be cool if they could open up for shopping a little early, and you could get over there ... buy some stuff, and then dump it back off at the hotel before the show starts. Maybe Rob, and Chris have something in mind?

It's a pretty big joint, but I don't think there is really a seperate room setup anywhere. It would be nice if there was, but I don't recall seeing one in the few times I've been to the venue. I think you can go off to the far corners, and get away from the bands somewhat, but I think you'd be able to hear them still. It's a nice venue though, so there are a lot of positives too.

They do have food in the venue .. not sure what's on the menu though. There is a whitecastles restaurant real close to the restaurant, and a sports bar a few hundred feet away that you can grab something at before and after the show. The show is all ages, so it will start early, and end early.

Downstairs you can sort of get away from things towards the back of the venue as well as a side area near the entrance and up in the balcony there is a nice spot up there (where I'm guessing they'll put most of the vendors) with a lot of room away from all the action but it's all part of one room. If the sound guy doesn't kill us with volume those areas won't be too bad if you want to get away from whatever band is on stage but it's turned up way too loud like it normally is there you won't have much of a chance to escape the noise since the room gets boomy.

As far as food, no they don't serve any food that I'm aware of, just alcohol and the selection is pretty weak in that department. There is a White Castle, Wendy's, Denny's within walking distance and a slew of other better resteraunts up the road on Lagrange.

Sorry, no ins/outs.

As far as food, there IS FOOD...and it's good! PLENTY of variety too...as the food is catered by The Colliseum, which is a sports bar 2 doors down in the strip mall, where the pre-party on Thurs will be. So you can expect burgers, hotdogs, pizza, etc...& even chicken tenders & sandwichs (but don't quote me on that for sure)...you can always call them if it means that much to you.

And FYI...since I know you'll ask because I mentioned it...the pre-party will happen, but as it stands right now, there won't be bands this year...but we haven't decided just yet...more important things first.

And to get away, there's an area upstairs that's either parallel or maybe even slightly behind the front of the stage...we will have some vendors in that area, so you can congregate there if you want to talk, etc.

Where will the porn stars and wrestlers be signing autographs?

The sad thing is that I actually have a pic of myself with a pornstar at the last MMF I attended (2002). In my defense I was slightly inebriated and my friend and I felt sorry for her because nobody was coming up to her table. Don't ask me her name cuz I couldn't tell ya!

Thankfully, I think CPF has a bit more class than that. ;)

Hahaha. Was that the VERY haggard looking oriental porn star?
I remember her. There were like 2 black guys macking on her the whole day.

2002 was a good year (Vio-Lence, Exodus, Jag Panzer, Seven Witches, Kataklysm, etc...)
