biggest Pantera ripoff ...

Actually the one track I've heard by these guys (ages back) sounded more like some sort of intense technical groove thrash with amazing vocals. Would be disapointing if they turned into a Pantera ripoff... guess I should click the link and find out.

yes, me too .. some early track had some good technical riffery ... but this video. hmm

PS ... Sorry Lee, but I am sure this band will bring in the MegaBucks anyway :loco:

Uhgg... the guitars are really toned (dumbed?) down in this track. The vocalist is still fantastic, but it's not nearly as impressive as what I'd heard previously. Shame too, I was expecting great things from this band.

I seriously don't hear it. Maybe it's because I was never into Pantera?

The reason I signed these guys is the world class musicianship / vocals mixed with the great songs and, what really tipped the balance for me, the huge orchestral scoring. The fact they were from the UK was the cherry on the top.

I don't hear it. I've only spun this CD once, and it was only half paying attention. But Pantera did not come to mind. I'm supposed to review this, so I'll be spending more time with it shortly. It definitely strikes me as a disc that requires multiples spins to appreciate.

yes actually, Exhorder was around the same time Pantera turned thrash.

I don't know how the rest of the CD sounds, but that afforementioned Biomechanical video ... I mean that riff in the beggining and as the vocals come in ... that is pure Pantera.

These guys will sell by the bucketload though ... will cover all the Elitist bills for sure :loco:

I've been a fan since their first album made the rounds, and even upon hearing the new tune, I don't hear it as too much a Pantera thing. Maybe its because I've heard their first album and know that's far from what they are doing. I still have to hear the new one but I highly recommend the first album if you haven't heard it. The music, vocals, and indeed like Lee said the orchestration is just a killer combination. A melodic, brutal wall of sound. Amazing stuff.

While I like parts of this band, other parts I dislike :/....

speaking of nevermore, i haven't listened to any of that in months (runs to CD shelf)
